Choose a story with one simple action
A closed book opens, a forest appears between its pages and the camera settles on a leaf. Describe the opening, change and ending in one sentence each. Decide what a viewer should remember before asking a tool to produce footage.
Make a card for every shot
Record the subject, setting, action, camera movement and transition. One card might say: ‘The book opens under warm light; the camera stays still; cut to the pages.’ Avoid asking for several complex actions at once. Keep shot IDs, references, status and usable clips in a small table.
Establish consistency before motion
Prepare still references for clothing, colors, materials and lighting. Then inspect the generated motion for changes in direction, shape or setting. Short shots with a single action are easier to assess. Keep a useful section of a clip when the full generation does not work.
Find the story in the edit
Assemble shots in storyboard order and see whether the story is understandable without elaborate transitions. Add narration, subtitles and ambient sound, giving each sentence one main point. Keep music below speech. Listen with your eyes closed, then watch without sound to catch gaps in each channel.
Review the complete film
Watch at its intended viewing size. Look for subtitle problems, changing objects, odd motion, uneven sound and an ending that disappears too quickly. Keep records of asset permissions. Save effective prompts, failed approaches and shot cards as the starting point for your next film.
