A single place to explore AI models and creator-built bots, with a daily free points allowance. Useful for comparing answers, trying creative tools and turning reusable instructions into a personal assistant.
Poe brings multiple AI providers and creator-built assistants into a common interface. Its main appeal is the ability to explore different approaches to the same task without maintaining a separate workflow for every service. A writer can compare two outlines, a learner can ask for a second explanation, and a builder can package recurring instructions as a bot.
The useful comparison is task-specific. A fluent answer may still miss a requirement, and an expensive bot is not automatically better for a short rewrite. Start with an input whose important details you understand, define what a good answer must preserve, and compare the results against that checklist. Poe is a convenient experimentation surface, not a universal ranking of model quality.

Non-paying users receive daily points that expire at the end of each 24-hour period. Bot rates, available models and account allocations vary; no fixed daily amount or unlimited premium-model access is promised.
Free accounts receive a recurring daily points allocation; unused points do not accumulate. Costs depend on the selected bot and can vary with the amount of material processed. Check the account balance and displayed rate rather than using an old fixed allowance from a review.
Subscriptions provide more points and additional model access. A sensible free workflow is to keep the initial input short and spend a second attempt on a specific correction. Long histories, large attachments and repeated creative generations can make a small task more expensive than it first appears.
There is a daily free points allowance with usage and model limits.

A prompt bot does not require a separate coded backend; more advanced creator routes can.

Poe is a hosted platform with browser, mobile and desktop access. Input support belongs to the selected bot: do not assume every assistant can read an image, understand an uploaded PDF or produce a video. Keep a local copy of any final draft you need to retain independently.
For custom bots, choose reference documents that you have permission to provide. Clearly separate instructions from source facts, and state how the assistant should respond when a source is missing. This makes the resulting tool easier to evaluate than an unrestricted instruction to answer anything.
The privacy center explains that model providers process chat content, and half-shield tools may also share it with their developers or external resources. Removing your account name from a request does not anonymize personal information that you place inside the prompt itself.
For a work assistant, begin with public reference material and document the approved data boundary. Review memory, sharing and bot permissions before inviting others into an existing conversation. A personal convenience tool should not silently become the repository for confidential client documents.
