Raycast AI is the artificial-intelligence layer within Raycast, a keyboard-driven productivity application. It provides access to multiple large language model providers through one interface, combining AI chat, Quick AI commands, tool-connected extensions, reusable agents, and context from files, screen awareness, memory, and profiles.
Raycast AI is included with paid Raycast Pro plans and can also use connected Claude or ChatGPT subscriptions, supported provider API keys, or local models through Ollama without consuming AI Credits. Its privacy model keeps data local by default; enabling Cloud Sync stores AI Chats on Raycast servers with encryption at rest and in transit.

What is Raycast AI?
It provides access to multiple large language model providers and AI workflows from within Raycast.
Can I use my existing AI subscription?
Yes. Raycast says Claude and ChatGPT subscriptions can be connected, and supported provider API keys can be used without consuming AI Credits.
Which API keys are supported?
The product pages specifically list custom keys for OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google.
Does Raycast AI train models on my inputs?
Raycast says its provider agreements prohibit using AI interactions to train their models.
Where are AI Chats stored?
Data is stored locally by default. If Cloud Sync is enabled, AI Chats are saved on Raycast servers and encrypted at rest and in transit.
Is there a student discount?
Raycast offers a 50% discount on the Pro plan to verified students; the discount does not apply to the Advanced AI add-on.

Cloud Sync changes the default local-storage model by saving AI Chats on Raycast servers.
