Freepik adopted the Magnific name in April 2026. The current suite spans image, video, audio, design and stock assets; AI credits and stock-download rights are separate, and the free tier is for personal use.
Magnific is the current brand of the former Freepik platform, not merely the older magnific.ai upscaler. Its April 2026 announcement says the Freepik creative and stock ecosystem became Magnific. The site now brings together AI image generation and editing, video, audio, design, collaborative Spaces and a large stock collection. This breadth is attractive when a designer needs a hero image, a cut-down social variation and licensed supporting assets under one account; it also makes licensing and budget checks more important than on a single-purpose image generator.
For a first production exercise, draft one visual brief with audience, format, exact copy and approved references. Make several image concepts, select one, then use the image editor for a local repair or alternate crop. If a stock image or icon enters the composition, record its asset page and license separately from the generated output. Keep a source-to-export list so a team can explain which parts are generated, edited or downloaded. Preview the final design at its actual display size; generated text and branded objects deserve manual checking.
The current help pages explain that AI actions use a shared credit balance, while stock downloads have a different quota. Free accounts have limited daily generation and a personal-use license with attribution. Paid plan credits are allocated by billing cycle and generally do not roll over; purchased extra credits have separate validity and require an active eligible subscription. Help articles and marketing pages do not show identical plan tables, so compare the exact plan, billing period and license on the signed-in checkout before purchase.

Work across images, video, audio and design tools from the same account; estimate each model and output setting separately.
Refine a promising image with editor tools rather than regenerating the complete brief; compare fine detail and typography after upscale.
Search photos, vectors, icons or templates and keep the download license attached to each item in the final project.
Organize references and iterations in a shared production space, with clear ownership and access boundaries.
Check the displayed action cost and the selected plan license before generating a large set or delivering paid work.

Export with the correct plan
List final formats, permitted references, stock-license needs and whether the work will be sold or printed on merchandise.
Generate a few versions, capture model and credit cost, and select the strongest before using advanced edits.
Inspect typography, faces and product details; keep stock asset URLs and license evidence with the editable master.
Check the current license and credits for commercial delivery, then inspect the exported size and any attribution requirement.

The current help center describes a limited Free tier with up to 20 daily in-house image generations and personal-use rights requiring attribution. Paid tiers add AI credit allocations and broader stock licensing. Its plans-and-pricing page lists Premium, Premium+ and Pro variants, while other help paths also mention Essential and different Pro credit levels; the public pricing page can show promotions. Choose the signed-in current offer as the transaction source rather than copying an older table.
AI credits are spent on AI actions, not on ordinary stock downloads. Monthly plan credits normally reset without rollover; annual billing provides the yearly allocation upfront. Some higher tiers offer an Unlimited mode for selected models, subject to fair use; other models, edits, video or API calls may still use credits. Purchased extra credits have separate validity and can be frozen if the qualifying subscription ends. Evaluate the intended mix of image, video and stock downloads rather than reading “unlimited” as universal.
The company announced in April 2026 that Freepik became Magnific; old links can remain during migration.
No. The new Magnific suite links to that legacy service as a separate destination.
The current plans guide describes Free as personal-use with attribution; use an eligible paid license for paid work.
No. The help center separates AI-action credits from stock download allowances.
No. It applies to selected supported modes under fair-use conditions; API calls and other tools can still consume credits.
Keep the generated-output brief, used model, stock asset pages, license, final edits and approved exports.

The April 2026 brand change means an old Freepik link or subscription reference may lead to the same platform under a new name. The legacy magnific.ai upscaler remains a separate linked destination. Magnific stock asset licenses and AI-generated output conditions must be read separately; physical merchandise may require a higher-level license.
Client briefs and unreleased product images can pass through cloud generation and shared Spaces. Limit collaborator access, avoid submitting unapproved personal data and check current data, model-training and retention terms for the chosen feature. Save license and generation records with the approved master, not just a final JPEG.
